چکیده

Background Myocardial perfusion imaging typically uses saturation recovery to generate T1 contrast during the Gd passage. Imaging protocols lead to a tradeoff between spatial/ temporal resolution, myocardial coverage, and SNR. To improve resolution while maintaining the image quality we propose a nonlinear iterative reconstruction. This method explicitly integrates respiratory motion correction into the reconstruction to permit spatio-temporal regularization in the presence of motion. Unlike most k-t methods, the motion corrected images are directly output. In this way, complete free-breathing acquisition is achieved. Nonlinear iterative reconstruction is difficult to characterize since implicit filtering resulting from regularization is signal dependent. We propose to validate the proposed method by comparing quantitative myocardial blood flow (MBF) against linear reconstruction.

Assessment of simulated patient motion and its effect on myocardial perfusion SPECT using two reconstruction methods (Filtered Backprojection;FBP and Iterative method) [Persian]

Introduction: Motion of the patient during myocardial perfusion SPECT could potentially results in false perfusion defects. The effect of different reconstruction methods on these artifacts is not studied. Clarification of the relation between the extent, severity and duration of motion with the resultant artifacts may be helpful in designing special soft wares for motion correction. This...

Performance of myocardial perfusion imaging using multi-focus fan beam collimator with resolution recovery reconstruction in a comparison with conventional SPECT

Objective: IQSPECT is an advanced high-speed SPECT modality for performing myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI), which uses a multi-focus fan beam collimator with resolution recovery reconstruction. The aim of this study was to compare IQSPECT compared with conventional SPECT interms of performance based on standard clinical protocols. In addition, we examined the concordance between convention...

Three slice myocardial coverage using non-ECG-triggered perfusion imaging with integrated T1 mapping for quantifying myocardial blood flow

Background A single-bolus non-ECG-triggered method was previously proposed to reduce the complexity of quantitative myocardial perfusion imaging [1]. Compared to conventional dual-bolus method, the arterial input function (AIF) is derived from imaging data, eliminating the need for an additional scan. The imaging workflow is further simplified by retrospectively determining the proper reconstru...

Evaluation of the potential impact of reconstruction method on dyssynchrony parameters derived by phase analysis of gated-SPECT MPI: Comparison of two quantitative software

Introduction: Gated SPECT myocardial perfusion scanning has new capabilities in addition to its main applications such as left ventricular dyssynchrony using phase analysis. Phase analysis has been investigated through various software including Emory Cardiac Toolbox (ECTb) and Quantitative Gated SPECT (QGS). The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of reconstruction par...

Non-ECG-triggered perfusion imaging with integrated T1 mapping for quantifying myocardial blood flow

Background The dual bolus method is conventionally used for quantification of myocardial blood flow (MBF). The method necessitates an additional scan for each first-pass measurement, which increases total scan time and is sensitive to change in heart rates between the two scans. A single scan method to measure the arterial input function (AIF) using highly constrained back projection (HYPR) rec...
